kasugai-tsubugumi-fruit-gummies
Kasugai Tsubugumi Japanese Fruit Gummies 80g

Small, firm fruit gummies from Japan, each bead coated in sugar, with grape, apple, muscat, peach and grapefruit mixed in one 80 g bag. Muscat is a sweet green grape. Buy it if you like a gummy with real chew and a mix of fruit in one bag; if you want a sour, powdery coat, this is the wrong bag.

On the pack: つぶグミ (tsoo-boo goo-mee), with TSUBU GUMI in English. Tsubu means a small bead.

What you're getting

Firm and bouncy to bite.

The sugar coat keeps your fingers clean.

The beads are small enough to eat two flavours at once and taste the mix.

The taste is sweet rather than sour, and it is lolly fruit rather than fresh fruit: there is fruit juice in the gummies, and flavouring too.

Allergens: contains milk, soy, peach and apple; the milk is lactose. Australia's allergen chart has no peach or apple category, so peach and apple cannot appear in the pack's allergen box here. Check the ingredients, not the chart; ours is the fuller list.

Also on the label: the gummies are set with gelatine, an animal product, and the pack does not say which animal. The glazing agent (the coating that gives sweets a shine) is not named, so it may be shellac, which comes from insects. Anyone who avoids animal products should skip it.

Keep the bag below 28 °C and out of the sun, as the pack's storage line says.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0824/1312/5858/files/kasugai-tsubugumi-fruit-gummies-80g-bag-front.webp?v=1792026106
