nissin-cup-noodle-seafood
Nissin Cup Noodle Seafood — Japanese Cup Ramen, 75g

Nissin's seafood cup noodle in the regular size: the 75 g cup as it is sold in Japan. The broth is the cloudy kind, built on pork and chicken with clam and seafood layered over the top, so it lands rich and faintly creamy rather than fishy, closer to a mild chowder than to anything from a ramen shop. Seafood Noodle was the second best-selling cup ramen by sales value across Japanese supermarkets in 2024–25. If you had one in Japan and want that exact cup, this is it.

On the pack it reads カップヌードル シーフードヌードル, just "Cup Noodle Seafood Noodle" written in Japanese, so you can check the cup that arrives is the right one.

Cup Noodle comes in three sizes in Japan: Mini 38 g, regular 75 g and BIG 105 g. This is the regular cup, 60 g of it noodles, the everyday size.

What you're getting

Not the supermarket cup: Coles sells a Nissin seafood cup at 72 g whose own product page says it is made in China. This is the 75 g cup from Nissin's Japanese range, made in Japan. Three grams apart, and a different product.

What is actually floating in it: squid, crab-flavoured surimi, seasoned egg, cabbage and spring onion. The crab stick is kanikama, a fish surimi shaped and coloured to look like crab. Nissin declares crab as an allergen on it, so if you react to shellfish, treat this as containing crab.

It is a pork broth underneath: pork and chicken seasoning lead the soup, with clam and seafood over the top. Worth knowing before you buy: it is not vegetarian, and it is not halal.

A salty cup, and about half of that salt sits in the broth. Finishing the soup or leaving it changes the meal quite a bit either way.

No prawn, despite the name: the shellfish here is crab, squid and clam.

Allergens: contains crab, squid, clam, fish, wheat, egg, milk, sesame and soy, plus chicken and pork seasonings and a gelatine Nissin does not source, none an allergen. Japan's chart has no clam or fish category, so those sit in the ingredient list — check it, not the chart; ours is the fuller list.

Do not microwave it. The American Cup Noodles come in a paper cup you can microwave and this one does not, the lid is aluminium. Tip it into a bowl first if you want to reheat it.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0824/1312/5858/files/nissin-cup-noodle-seafood-cup-front.webp?v=1787296768
