About
Five packets of Shin Ramyun, the Korean instant noodle soup with thick, chewy noodles in a spicy broth. It is properly chilli-hot, too hot for some people to finish. Buy it if you like real chilli heat and a noodle with some bite; if you want a mild noodle for children, this is the wrong packet.
On the bag: 辛, printed huge in black brush strokes, then 라면 and SHIN RAMYUN in English. 辛 means spicy, and ramyun (often spelled ramyeon) is the Korean word for instant noodles.
What you're getting
- The noodles are thick and fried, and they stay chewy in the soup rather than going soft.
- If you are unsure about the heat, use half the soup powder the first time.
- Each packet makes one plain bowl: a noodle block, a soup powder and a sachet of dried vegetable flakes. Anything else, such as an egg, cheese or vegetables, you add yourself.
- This is the original red Shin Ramyun. Shin Black, Shin Light, the Kimchi and Toomba packs, and Jin Ramen (made by Ottogi, spelled Otoki on its pack) are different products with their own recipes.
- Allergens: contains wheat, gluten and soy. May contain crustacean, mollusc, egg, fish, peanut, milk, tree nuts and sesame. Read the pack's own label before you rely on ours.
- Also on the label: no meat is named in this Australian recipe, but nothing on the pack certifies it free of animal ingredients. Shin Ramyun sold in the US is made with beef, so ingredient lists you find online may not match this pack.
Some bags are printed with a promotion for a photocard of the K-pop group aespa; a photocard is not guaranteed with your order.
