This is Suppai-Chew, the sour lemon Hi-Chew: a stick of 12 individually wrapped soft chews with crunchy candy bits inside each piece. The lemon is sour but not fierce, with sweetness underneath, and the bits give a gritty crunch inside the soft chew. Buy it if you want Hi-Chew with a sour edge and a crunch; if you want a lolly that makes your face screw up, this is not sour enough.
On the pack: すッパイチュウ. Suppai (soo-pie) means sour, so the name is simply sour chew.
It is a soft candy you chew and swallow, not a gum.
Sugar (made in Japan, made in Thailand), glucose syrup, vegetable fat, dextrin, gelatine, concentrated lemon juice
acidulant, glycerol, vitamin C, flavouring, emulsifier, safflower yellow colour

None declared — the ingredient list names no allergen.

The maker
Hi-Chew was born in Japan in 1975 and is now sold in more than 30 countries. Morinaga & Co. (not to be confused with Morinaga Milk, a separate company) makes it as a soft candy rather than a gum.
Suppai-Chew, its sour line, arrived in 2013, with crunchy candy chips inside each soft piece. What the chips are made of, the maker keeps to itself.
